Mr. John Sims currently serves as the Director of Human Health and Performance (HH&P) at NASA’s Johnson Space Center. In this role, he is responsible for leading and integrating a team of civil servants and contractors in the technical disciplines of space medicine and clinical operations, biomedical and environmental sciences, human systems engineering, integration and development, human systems risk management, occupational health and industrial hygiene, all in support of human space flight programs.
John has worked at JSC for over 40 years. Starting as a cooperative education student, he served as a Space Shuttle instructor, and later as a flight controller. He held numerous leadership positions within the Flight Operations Directorate before entering the SES in 2015. John holds a bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering from TAMU, and a master's degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Houston.
