1st Thursday Program -- Making Space for History: Tips to Preserving and Identifying Historically Significant Content in Your Personal Papers

  • 7 Jul 2022
  • 2:30 PM - 4:00 PM
  • Gilruth Lone Star Room and Zoom

Matthew Peek, Associate Director of University of Houston-Clear Lake Archives and Special Collections will discuss archiving personal collections and papers. Whether donating to the UHCL archives program or saving for your family, Peek will discuss how to care for personal archival collections/papers, how to organize materials, how to store them, what is important for keeping or not for researchers, what formats are most relevant or significant for preservation, and how to label materials so family or outsiders (like future repositories for personal papers) will be able to access your materials.
