June 2026 First Thursday -- EVA and Environmental Physiology Lab Overview and Artemis II Involvement (4 Jun 2026)

Before astronauts blast off for their missions, they participate in physiological assessments and training to ensure they will be able to fully perform their tasks on orbit. Once they return to Earth, they undergo physiological training that helps them re-adapt to the 1-G environment. Our speaker for this month, Mr. Jason Norcross, is one of the scientists who develops and administers those training programs - including for the Artemis missions!!

Mr. Norcross is a senior scientist in the EVA and Environmental Physiology Lab. He has worked for KBR at NASA for the past 20 years with research interests in suited human performance and injury avoidance, decompression sickness, atmosphere design, and exercise physiology. He received both a BS and MS in Exercise Science from UC-Davis.
